The unremarkable turned into the remarkable. The orange feather matches the orange beads. But it’s not supposed to be orange. It’s a yellow feather that matches yellow beads. And it looks dead in the original image against the gray background.

The fix
After adjusting the contrast and brightness, I was able to color correct the yellow bringing back the translucence that the feather originally had. Once the new background and shadowing was added, the piece became dynamic.
