After three years of light duty, I started getting
Banding on my Polaroid Sprintscan 4000 Scans
I keep the scanner turned off and covered with plastic to prevent dust from getting in.

You can clearly see the horizontal dark band through the center of the scanned image. This band was visible at any resolution I scanned in both Insight and VueScan. Therefore I consider it a hardware problem. I guess I'll be joining Tony Sleeps Filmscanners forum again to see if anyone else has reported this problem.
Polaroid told me that it's a CCD problem and would probably cost between $400 - $600 to repair, with a $125 estimate deducted off the repair cost. Where is David Hemingway when we need him?

Unfortunately David is no longer with Polaroid
If anyone knows a solution to this problem, please contact me by e-mail or telephone 412-767-8644
