The humorous side of the software business |
|
On a more serious note, Nikon
is posed to come out with a new version of Nikon Capture NX. It uses U
Point technology created by Nik Software for advanced selective
enhancement for a new way of visually and intuitively processing and
editing images. Besides working with NEFs in a non destructive way,
Capture NX will also work with TIF and JPEG files. More to come when we
get review copies. |
Bibble's
incorporation of the Noise Ninja technology on camera raw files and it's
ability to batch process at unparalleled speed still makes it the RAW
processor to beat. |
The BermanGraphics best of PMA |
The BermanGraphics best of PMA
was the Huey from
Pantone/Gretag-Macbeth,
bringing color calibration to the masses with it's $89 price. |
Almost the size of a pencil, the Huey makes calibrating
any monitor easy. It works with CRT and LCD monitors or laptops. After calibration is
complete the default setting is viewing images and web browsing.
That sets the gamma to 2.2 and the color temperature to 6500 which is the
default for the sRGB color space. At $89, this is the lowest priced
calibration system we've ever seen, especially for the MAC where nothing
has been available for under $150 in the past. |
