My father passed away in March and I've cancelled all his insurance policies. Not wanting to take no for an answer, I received a letter from Standard Life, addressed to the estate of.... The letter explained how important health insurance was and that they had changed the address on the policy to mine (which I gave them as executer when I cancelled the policy) to make sure my father could continue making payments.
This is just another example of clueless companies not knowing how to treat policies of people that pass away.
Message to the insurance industry - when you have to change the name on a policy to "the estate of..." it means the person passed away.
