Getting your Pictures into the Computer

Sandisk Compact Flash Card Reader

ZiO! from Michrotech

There are better ways to get your images onto the computer than the NikonView software and a direct cable link. Sandisk makes several accessories that ease the process of moving your digital images around. Their ImageMate is a small external CompactFlash reader that plugs into your USB port. It can greatly speed the transfer of images, especially for the Coolpix 950, which only has serial port capability. Sandisks Type II Adapter allows you to quickly transfer images through your laptop's PCMCIA slot. Another CompactFlash card reader we recommend is called the ZiO! from Michrotech.  It also connects through the USB port and is read as a hard drive. To transfer your images we recommend the image viewing program ACDSee. It does an elegant job move or copy your images. Used with the ImageMate or ZiO!, it makes for the ideal transfer of images.
