The coolest filters we’ve come
across are the 88a and 89b sharp cut
infrared filters from Harrison
and Harrison. These filters block all visible light, allowing
the Coolpix's sensitivity to infrared light to create wonderful
infrared images. If you ever worked with infrared film you know
what a pain exposure and focus can be. To have the Coolpix do it
all for you, and let you see the unique IR images (glowing
foliage, black skies, eerie skin tones) before you shoot, is a
miracle.
Nikon offers a set of 28mm that include a circular polarizer,
UV, and two neutral density filters. There are numerous high
quality filters from Tiffen that come in the 37mm size, and
from B+W (Schneider) that come in the 30.5mm size. Both
companies also sell the required 28mm adapter. |
