Members’ Juried Exhibition goes to Digital Images for Submission!

WHO: Calling all Members of the PMA and Regional Artists

WHAT: During the past several years the annual Members’ Juried Exhibition has become a spectacular highlight of the Museum’s exhibition programming. In an effort to further streamline and professionalize the exhibition and open new doors of opportunities for artists within the region, all entries will be submitted digitally for the jurying process.

WHERE: In an effort to make this transition as easy as possible, the PMA will present a two-part seminar on digital image preparation and presentation for digital juried applications with the support of the State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs. The workshop held at the Museum will be free and open to the public.

WHEN: Thursday, June 14th, “Digital Image Preparation” by Larry Berman

Mr. Berman has thirty years of experience within the field of photography, working as an artist, teacher and consultant dealing with digital image preparation for juried applications. As part of his presentation, he will discuss issues such as, how to shoot digital images as well as how to set up a profile, upload images and apply to art shows online.

Friday, June 15th, “Digital Image Selection & Presentation” by Bruce Baker.

Mr. Baker is an artist and consultant who has led over 500 energetic and enthusiastic workshops throughout the United States. He will discuss at length on how artists can best select and present their work through digital juried applications. Mr. Baker will also engage our members on a professional level by encouraging an in-depth look into the growth and development of their careers as artists through a discussion on trends and product development.

WHY: The submission process for juried exhibitions all across the nation are moving toward digital images. According to a recent New York Times article, “It’s another sign of the acceleration of the contemporary art market: New works…are sold by digital image alone.” We want to help you promote and sell more of your art!
