The drivers door handle broke off, six months out of warranty |

| Is it metal or is it plastic? Only your Toyota dealer knows for sure. Actually it is plastic as you can see by the macro image of the broken piece below. |

| I called Toyota service and and they are ordering me a new handle at a cost of $83 plus $68 to install it. When I told the parts manager what happened, he wondered if it was the entire handle which would mean having to get in the passenger door and climb over the consol. Luckily for us, only two thirds of the handle broke off (plastic fatigue) and we can still open the drivers door. |
